Painting Workshop FAQs
Not at all! Whether you're a beginner or an experienced artist, you'll find inspiration, guidance, and support in our welcoming studio. Noémie will guide the group step by step and offer assistance as needed. It’s a fantastic opportunity to explore oil painting in her signature style. All art materials are provided.
The locations of the workshops vary. Noémie orchestrates locations in Ottawa. She has also taught in Collingwood and Hamilton, Ontario.
All art materials are included in the workshop. Noémie will provide aprons, but you are welcome to bring your own if you prefer. We recommend wearing clothes that you don’t mind getting stained. Food is not provided, so please bring your own lunch. All you need to bring is yourself, a positive attitude, and your lunch.
Oil paintings take approximately 1 month to dry and will be quite wet when traveling from the workshop to your home. We suggest placing it in the trunk of your vehicle or bringing a box that is slightly wider than 12x12 inches to accommodate it.
At our one-day oil painting workshops, you will create a copy of one of Noémie's paintings. In this case, you do not have the right to sell the painting you create, as this would infringe on the original artist’s copyright. However, if you use your own reference photo, you retain the rights to sell the artwork.

"I totally recommend Noemie's workshops! I wish I could go to this one. I loved her workshop last week where a group of us made surprisingly beautiful art with her help! Go if you are thinking about it. You can't go wrong!"

"My girlfriend and I loved our painting class with Noemie! She's a fantastic instructor who made the process easy to follow. The supplies were top-notch, and we enjoyed it so much that we signed up for a second class. Now we have two beautiful oil paintings to display at home!"
Noémie L. Coté
Noémie specializes in vibrant open-impressionist landscapes that capture the essence of a scene, breathes new life into it and leaves the observer uplifted. It’s as if her mind were a prism that takes in the white light that she sees and disperses the component colours on the rolling hills or through the branches of a tree. This gives her work the quality of blown glass where colours play off each other and come together as a whole to define the feeling of a scene.
