Commission

One-of-a-Kind Custom Painting

What's A Commission?

A commissioned painting is one of a kind personalized landscape that has meaning to you.  This could be the view from your cottage, your favourite nature walk, or the vista from a mountain you've climbed. Maybe you've fallen in love with a painting that I've done in the past, but need a specific size or a different colour palette for your space.

The Process

Step 1

Book a Call. Know you’d like to commission of your very own? Fill out the intake form below or drop me an email.

Step 2

Vision and Logistics Call. During our 20-minute call, you'll share your vision for the piece. Whether you have a clear idea or just a vague concept, we'll discuss it together. I'll guide you through questions about dimensions, colour palette, style, mood, photos, and elements to include.

Step 3

Yes, Yes, Revise. The creative process has five phases: a) paper sketch b) canvas sketch c) digital colour mock-up, and d) final painting. You'll review and approve or give revisions at each stage. This joint creation ensures your 100% satisfaction. This process takes approximately 1 month.

Step 4

Shipping and Delivery. Get your wall ready. When your painting is dry, I will lovingly package it and send to you! We'll celebrate over Zoom or in person as you hang your beautiful piece.

“This breathtaking sunset captured the warm energy and power of my native land of South Africa. Noémie's attention to detail and ability to bring my vision to life truly exceeded all my expectations. This painting is the focal point in my family room!”

Rob

"I had the privilege of commissioning a piece with Noémie for my home. Her painting fills a void in my room and helps make this space one of my favourite spots to sit and relax everyday. Each time I look at my painting I find a new element to enjoy. Her process with clients is very engaging. Noémie will capture your ideas and photos and transform them to canvas with bold and beautiful creativity that will exceed your expectations!

Stephanie

"My commission painting is stunning! Last summer my husband, my son and I hiked the trail from lake Louise all the way up to the glacier that feeds it. Noémie took my picture of this incredibly special memory and made it into a masterpiece.
Everyone who walks into our living room goes "Whoa!" and asks about it. Lucky for me I get to retell our adventure every time ;)"

FAQs

As a general rule, the process timeframe is around 2 months. The first month involves co-creating the custom painting, followed by another month+ for drying. Noémie offers a limited number of commission slots each year. Be sure to contact her to discuss her availability.

Noémie’s commission process is unique in that it removes the fear of whether you will like the final result. She will guide you through each step, seeking your feedback throughout. From sketching the composition to creating a digital colour mockup, you will see the direction and have the opportunity to make changes.

To determine the ideal size for your painting, use masking tape to outline the dimensions on your wall. Move around the room and view the space from various angles to see how the painting will fit. While Noémie's artwork does not require framing, if you choose to frame it, be sure to account for the additional size of the frame.

Another option we offer is a digital mockup service. You can send Noémie a photo of your room along with the ceiling dimensions, and she will provide visuals of different canvas sizes superimposed in the photo to help you make a decision.

Noémie specializes in creating commissioned paintings of landscapes and does not typically accept commissions for figurative subjects such as family or pet portraits. She has worked on commissions featuring elements like small boats, animals, or buildings, as long as the majority of the composition is landscape-focused. If you’re unsure whether your idea fits, please send your reference photos for review
